AMR

About the AMR thing, actually, i was quite nervous about it in the sense that my partner is not 100% into it. Yes, i was able to make him say yes when i was registering but it's definitely not expected that we'd get accepted... thus, when judgement time came, exactly as what i thought, he was seriously having/manifesting doubts about it... so, what to do? DQ time.... arrgghhh, i hate bein a DQ, it's soo not-me... ehehehe, but i've gotta admit, i probably have it within me, i think all women do... anyways, back to AMR mode pls.:





so, practically, i dragged papa onto the mall but he's seriously un-excited about the whole thing and increasingly becomes annoying. On the other hand though, he's still my papa and so, i didnt show my annoyance.

1st we queued for what seemed like an eternity (hehehe, just 15 mins., actually) from Registration/submission of liability forms and surrendering our phones, wallets and bags (if any)... Only 1 phone is allowed to be given to each time but its battery is separated and thensealed, and the emergency no. was written so it may only be used for emergency...

2nd we we're briefed by AxN reps, i think her name's ChELsEy!!! that we're not allowed to bring money or use cellphone unless for emergency purposes... no shouting and running like mad man in the very crowded mall, etc., etc.... otehr questions were entertained...

3rd we were handed out the picture clues >> a 3R pic with 5 pix there actually... the 5 pix are 5 shops or places within the Mall which we have to find... It was said that if it is the correct shop/place, there'd be a Race-Sign on it & a marshal (in black) shall await. Said marshal shall either ask us do a certain task or just simply sign in the race passport.

Btw, SM Mega Mall is like, very huge - 331,679 m² and has about more than 600 shops! with 2 divisions - buildings A & B and though I usu. pass by there before goin home (coz it's walking distance fr. my ofc.), well, lookin/findin those shops isn't that easy, really ;)

So Next>> Upon handing out the clues, i thought we're gonna go go go but twas just the beginning of the pre-show wherein some of the participants were called on stage for bits of interviews... (we've successfully hid from the cam & the hosts @ ths point, ehehe)

* Btw, as far as i know only 20 teams are included but we learned that there are 10 add'l teams from the media/celebrity world, hehehe

So after a few more moments, we're finally given the go signal to GO, signalled by the hosts (DJ's from Monster Radio Rx93.1)... AS they shouted Go! All 30 teams immediately ran from shop to shop walking, running inside SM Megamall and so we went running, walking, looking around for clues...

clue 1 - 5 (maybe executed in random order):

1. Ace Hardware wherein the Marshall just asked where's that pic of the shop (logo) that's the same with the pic clue

2. Time Zone arcade wherein we were tasked to look for the machine in the clue pic and give the name of that machine to the marshall

3. Cyberzone wherein we're just tasked to pint out to the marshall where's the cyberzone in the cluepic

4. 4A Parking lot... no questions asked, marshall just signed

5. Bowling... same thing

6. Shoot the ball in the given time limit @ Sports Planet, i think...

other challenges:
skating rink - balancing act wherein u have to free ur partner by unlocking a chain
eating challenge @ greenwich pizza
play game in TZ arcade again

whew! Honestly, i know it'll be tiring but i didnt know it'd be THIS tiring... Upon completing just 5 or 6 clues, i was already dead tired, hungry and thirsty and I know papa is, too..... I do want to continue but he said If i don't, it's ok. But in between these walks and shop-searching, there were lots of realizations: 1. it's really not cool to force people to do things, hehehe 2. physical prep. is very important in these instances and here's where I'm definitely disadvantaged coz i gained excess baggages after the holyweek... 3. the 'right frame of mind' is perhaps the best tool needed to carry on the race which apparently i do not have nor does my partner 4. i dont think i will ever join anythin like this again or maybe if i will, perhaps roy or chummy will be the best partner :( So, what actually happened between clues 1 to 5, is walking/running/mini-arguments... the arguments are like, part of us dealing with pressure and stuff but sadly, it also made me realize how different my perspective is from my partner's. So back to the race, we were only on the 5th or 6th clue when we came across the news that some teams already won... this, totally, made us just come back to the race starting point and, yes, give up. I actually thought I'd be feeling bad about the whole thing, but you know what, I don't. Besides, (i hate to say this), papa is right, what's the point of finishing it when some teams already won and these teams seem to have lots of tips/clues from organizers themselves (Blue <---bitter/sourgrapin femme).... But anyways, Papa was eager to show and hand over the goodies to russell, that made me smile :) After all, that is the most amazing challenge, really, bein a family person and still enjoyin things i like in life, like TARA, food, etc....

So, that was it. We were a team (papa & me), for AMR! Maktub!

The day after the race, guess what my whole body ached, esp. my legs and i asked him if he feels the same, he simply said 'no'. He's obviously more fit than i am, hehehe :P

P.S. we weren't able to have any pix taken during the race since all our personal belongings weren't with us and so we only got to take pix afterwards ;) tkae care, y'all!!!
